ATC2015 Recruitment is Marketing

So #ATC2015 has once again drawn to a close here in Sydney and as I reflect sitting in the Virgin Lounge returning home, one thing was Universum. Weirdly, across all industries and around the globe we are all experiencing similar issues.

Indeed, we seemed to have fallen in love with funnels. Oh how I wish I had the time to write this blog in the shape of a funnel. Some technologies Clinch our imaginations whilst others challenged us to Reffind our thinking. We all have issue with content but who was the King Content of them all? It could be argued Amazon has all the content it needs at it’s disposal. Hire Vue joined the Australian market in what is a Montage of suppliers in a relatively small market. It will be interesting to see the outcome. Yoda will have said ‘Eventbrite, #ATC2015 was’. OK that was pretty lame but that’s a tricky name to incorporate into a sentence.

There were many more vendors, and whats greater, even more attendees. What used to be dominated by Mining, Construction, Engineering industries, now heavily featured Banking and Financial Services, Education, and Health. What’s even more interesting is the lack of retail and tech companies who would really benefit from attending due to the relevance of content. As usual there were great presentations. Todd Davis, Mike Bailen, Todd Weatland and Jonathan Crossfield. They wowed us with information, made us want to read more, and challenged us to be more courageous. All done with some good humour.

There was Bill ‘Borat’ Boorman (I can’t get the pic to upload) who’s ability to ask the hard questions which is under rated by some. Not me. We need more robust conversation in our industry. Kevin Wheeler and his damn robots. Kevin, i’m pretty sure you have vested interest in Stark Industries and Cyberdyne systems. Imagine the day the wine industry is 100% automated.

But where it all comes together is the networking and socialising that takes place post conference. Matt Charney blogged, post #ATC2014 that this is where the magic happens. Friendships born, deals done. And yet, so many retire to team specific dinners, or early nights. Why aren’t more people out socialising and networking post days events. Sure my liver, kidney aren’t in the best state right at the moment, but the post conference shenanigan’s is what makes these events  so much more. I wouldn’t have come across the Smoking Panda and their superb Soft Shell Crab Slider…next time you are in Sydney, get there.

Once again the ATC Crew deserve a pat on the back. Thank you to you all for your efforts and hope you have a fantastic time in NZ.

To all the attendees whether you are a disruptor or fast follower be courageous.

    1. Anthony, more than happy to. Just waiting on the software provider to pkg it up for a demo purpose. At present if you aren’t using the oculus what you see is a left eye, right eye view. Will notify you and like follow up with another post.
